Early Childhood Education is coming to Perspectives!

Children are learning every moment of every day during their formative pre-kindergarten years. More and more research shows that the years before kindergarten set the stage for future success in school and life. New research shows that high-quality early childhood education actually strengthens families and provides better personal outcomes later in life.

At Perspectives, we are committed to strengthening families and providing mothers and their children with the tools they need to succeed in life. Overcoming the trauma of substance abuse and mental health takes a comprehensive approach to provide families with opportunity to grow. For more than 40 years, we’ve done that with our Supportive Housing program that provides a home to our formerly homeless families. Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment at Perspectives offers easily accessible treatment options for women in our program with one-to-one treatment, peer recovery and individual and family therapy. Our Kids Connection and Summer Explorers programs provide children in our programs social enrichment and exposure to arts, music and technology.

This summer, we are pleased to begin offering early childhood education, Pre-K Every Day, for the youngest members of our Perspectives family. Our Family Center will become home to a program that offers the most current educational practices to help our youngest children grow and learn.

This week our Early Childhood Program staff, Cece and Krystal, worked hard to make our facility ready for the first group of children coming soon. They started to receive boxes full of furniture, toys, learning tools and more to build out our Early Childhood space.

Our staff is dedicated to piloting this exciting new program this summer with a full launch of service in the fall.
