Read Across America Day 2019
I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.
Thankfully, the children in our Kids Connection program do like the work of Dr. Seuss. For Read Across America Day 2019, the Women of Perspectives, a great group from UPS, and our children celebrated the wacky and wonderful books of Dr. Seuss. NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.
Our kids made everything from "blue footprints" based on Seuss' "The Foot Book" to candy and marshmallow hats celebrating "The Cat in the Hat." We wrapped up the event the best way we could—with a Dr. Seuss inspired cookie decorating dessert station!
