Growing up can be hard to do

Navigating a maze of school, activities, and life in general can be a lot for young adults, especially in the wake of family trauma. For children at Perspectives, the opportunity to socialize and talk with adults that can offer a thoughtful ear and helpful input can make a big difference in their life.

We are grateful that eight volunteers from Cargill, with varied background and experience, were able to join young adults from The Connection program to discuss what it is like to navigate life and find a fulfilling career. Program leader, George Bickham said, “Who would’ve thought teenagers would enjoy talking to an adult one-on-one for 40 – 45 minutes? Those conversations and interviews could have gone on much longer without a doubt. What a difference!”

Thank you Cargill! We hope to see you again soon!
