Helping homeless and recovering families re-enter economic and social
mainstream

This program is the largest Supportive Housing Program (SHP) for
families with children in Minnesota. Our program houses 52 families,
including over 100 children, at any given time. The programs’ target
population is recovering homeless women (single head of household) with
their children. Critical one-to-one case management is provided in
order to assist the families in their transition back into the
socio-economic mainstream. Because we offer a
structured and supportive environment many parents are able to reunite
with their children.
The housing campus consists of 5 buildings located adjacent to one
another in a cul-de-sac. Two buildings are designated for transitional
housing residents and three buildings are designated for a permanent
housing program where the stay is not limited. All apartments are
furnished and all buildings are smoke-free.
SHP provides an array of services at Perspectives Family Center,
including clinical services and a MFIP employment program. Childcare is
offered during programming and transportation between the housing campus
and the Family Center is provided. SHP children participate in
Perspectives’ year-round academic and social enrichment programs,
including our Kids Connection.
